Turdus iliacus
1 Photos
A petite and charming thrush, distinguished by striking whitish eyebrows, varying orange patches on its flanks, and a yellow bill base. During flight, displays rusty-orange underwings. Breeds in wooded areas, particularly with birch trees; during winter, inhabits open woodlands, farmlands with hedges, orchards, and parks. Often seen in groups, sometimes mingling with Fieldfares and other thrush species, foraging in fields or fruiting trees. Its melodious song is a delightful blend of burbling trills and whistles. Vocalizations range from a high buzzing "tseer" to quick rattled phrases.
