1 Photos

Sleek hawk with slim, tapered wings, prefers heathland, grassland, and marshes. Typically observed flying low with wings forming a shallow V, displaying buoyant flight. Males are pale gray with black wingtips, resembling gulls; distinguishable by narrow black upperwing bar. Females differ from Hen Harriers with narrower wings and more agile flight; juveniles boast bright rusty undersides. Some individuals exhibit a dark coloration. Pallid Harrier males lack black wing bars and rusty underparts seen in Montagu''s Harriers; Pallid females and juveniles are notably lighter.
