1 Photos

Attractive bird with a lengthy tail, the breeding male showcases a black throat and predominantly yellow underparts. Breeding females may exhibit dark throat patches and paler yellow underparts. All variations feature a gray head and back, whitish eyebrow, vibrant yellow belly and vent. Typically found near flowing water adjacent to rocky landscapes, spanning from mountain streams to suburban parkland weirs. Quietly traverses shorelines or nearby open spaces, rhythmically moving its elongated white-sided tail. Their song consists of a repetitive sequence of high-pitched notes; communication includes short, sharp "pseet" calls and buzzier flight signals.
