Shoveler

Medium-sized duck, smaller than a Mallard, with a large, spoon-shaped bill noticeable even in flight. Breeding males sport a dark green head, white breast, and chestnut sides and belly, while females are buffy-brown with a prominent bill. Their upperwings showcase a chalky-blue hue. These ducks sift through water to forage, frequently forming spiral patterns while swimming in groups.
