Egyptian Goose

Originating from Africa, particularly the eastern and southern regions, this remarkable bird, often mistaken for a goose but more akin to shelducks, boasts a striking appearance. Widely distributed in Europe and certain parts of the U.S., it features distinguishing characteristics such as a stark pale eye encircled by a dark patch, pink legs, and a mix of gray and buffy feathers. Noteworthy in flight are its vivid white forewings. Typically spotted in pairs or familial clusters, this species engages in feeding behaviors both while swimming and by grazing along the shoreline.
