Linnet

A petite finch found in diverse habitats like moorlands, grasslands, and urban patches. Typically congregates in flocks during colder seasons, rarely visiting garden feeders. Appears unremarkable except for the male''s striking features: reddish breast, gray head, and rusty-brown back. The female can be recognized by distinct facial patterns—a pale crescent above and below the eyes, along with a light cheek patch. Recognize their presence by listening for melodious twittering songs and dry tittering calls, commonly heard during flight.
